Both bands were OK. Noise was not particularly high and QSB was
moderate to low with most of you. It was nice to hear it is sunny
somewhere. Oregon gloom is approaching :)
On 14050.5 kHz at 2200z:
W0CZ - Ken - ND

I was on 14074 for FT8. Power set to 98. Changed to 14303.5. Turned on the
KPA1500. Power stayed at 97! Manually changed power to 20. Turned off the amp,
power stayed at 20.
Set power to 97. Turned on amp and power went to 20 as it should. Could not
repeat this.

act of turning on and off the KPA1500 or KPA500 should not change the power in
the K3 or K4. Changing the amp from STBY to OPER should cause that change
assuming the K3/K4 has the proper configuration. Did you switch the KPA150 to
OPER?

Then I suspect you powered the amp on before the transceiver, and the K3/K4 did
not get the power-on message from the amp. Or perhaps there was some other
reason the transceiver didn’t get that message. The amplifiers just report
