This K1 is a GREAT radio.
I'm always impressed by it when I've taken it out camping, or on field day,
or when I'm at home. The ATU matches just about anything you can put in the
trees! This is a 2-band version (70Khz band spread - can be changed to
150Khz) (20 and 40 mtrs installed) with an extra K

I disagree...Apple has gone far beyond where it could have with only cult

Apple's advantage is in its broad vision of an ecosystem encompassing all of
their products including content.
Hi Wayne, Eric & all,
before ordering a K3/0 I would like to take a look into the manuals, i.e.
builders guide, etc. to see what is different to the K3/10 or K3/100 and
what connections are needed. Haven't found it on the website yet - any time
schedule when it will be available? Tnx!

Thanks Dick for your help! It did do the job, I had to disconnect mymicroham

So reading the help files sometimes really helps!
Thanks again and

As a student of these issues, I dissagree. Its telling from your comments
that a lot of you come from an Engineering perspective. And while I can

The Elecraft web page that shows the rig comparisons includes part of Sherwood

I think a nice addition to the Elecraft web site is such a similar comparison

I wanted to install the latest firmware beta release (4.47).
The process started, on the K3 display MCU LD appeared, but after a while the
message appeared, that the update failed.
The K3 stayed in the MCU LD mode and the K3 utility showed that there is a
communication problem with the COM port.

Thanks for the replies. I can try to answer as follows:
The "good" rig is in the 3800 series, and has:
KDSP2, KAT2, KBT2, KSB2, KNB1, K160RX, KIO2
The "weak" rig is 5900 series and has:
KAF2, KPA100, KSB2, KNB1, K160RX, KIO2
I have used spectogram, but not for the 5900 series rig.

What filter were you using when doing the sensitivity measurements? Did

I have two K2s, and I find on one of them that the sensitivity is much lower.
I see this when doing a test with an XG1 signal generator.
The problem is that the "low sensitivity" rig is one that I bought built,
while the one that works fine is a rig I built myself. I have tried to
reallign the rig

Joel,
Measure the voltage drop right at the power supply terminals - that will
tell you how much of that total voltage drop is due to the power
supply. The rest is in the wire and connectors - there are 12
connectors if your PowerPole distribution box has fuses, and 8
connectors if no fuses.
Ron,
I didn't think to look at that last night, but I am testing it now into
a dummy load at 50W. I am using an MFJ-4125 with about 18" of #10 "zip
cord." This goes to a PowerPole DC distribution panel and there is
another run of about 30" of #10 to the K3. On receive, I have 13.4 -

Same here. It's an issue that was raised many moons ago and I believe that
Elecraft made some software changes to address this. In my humble opinion,
it's nowhere near right yet.
