I too am seeing this sort of problem. I too am also busy and haven't had
time to investigate.
However, is there some difference in the way the latest version (3.2.5)
initiates

I even checked with the firewall completely disabled. Same problem: once I
cannot register, restarting Ekiga with either setting at the firewall does not
help. It seems to depend on the phase of the moon.
Learning how to write reliable programs would also be a big step forward ;-)

i am as of now not having any success with ekiga 3.0 on my ubuntu jaunty
system, where 3.0 is the default. can anyone tell me how i can install
the old 2.0.12?

Registration of my account is reported for both
sip.diamondcard.us and for eugw.ast.diamondcard.us.
I guess that eugw.ast.diamondcard.us is an older
domain name. The Diamond instructions specify
sip.diamondcard.us. Well, in both cases I appear
to get access to the Diamond gateway. So
