Public bug reported: When starting Calibre from the sidebar by clicking on it, the splash screen is shown (a picture of a shelf of books) and the text loading user interface is displayed. After this, the user interface is corrupted. Not only for Calibre, but for other parts of the system as well.

I tried the following, inspired by one of the comments in another bug report. In a terminal I ran the following commands: sudo rm -fr /opt/calibre sudo rm -fr ~/.config/calibre After that I manually removed calibre from the desktop starter bar. After that I did an install from the Calibre websit
