important of the apps in question, and while one of them was most
helpful and has changed the package, the others have not even replied,
such is their indifference.

I have found the setting in Compiz Config Settings Manager (CCSM):
Utility > Title Bar Info > Show Root
For the solution, all that is needed is to have this option turned on by
default.
I don't know how this would affect other distributions such as Lubuntu
and Xubuntu.
