Public bug reported:
Install python-indicate and libindicate-doc. Run:
python /usr/share/doc/libindicate/examples/im-client.py
An entry should appear in message indicator, but does not. That worked
in 12.04 but is broken in 14.04.

IMHO this bug is NOT fixed. When laptop battery is fully charged the
indicator shows a mouse icon. I'm never interested in mouse battery
status. The more useful information is always the laptop battery. Is
laptop on AC? Is it charging? How long does it take? Is it fully
charged? This is what I need
Is there a ppa or a debian package for download that contains Peters mod for

It's very annoying to always see the mouse icon in indicator panel. I'm not
interested in mouse status, I need to know if laptop battery is
charging/discharging/full and if I'm running on AC. This information is
Having mouse battery status in the indicator is a nice feature, but
laptop battery should always be on the top of the list.
I changed the sorting algorithm in service.c so that laptop battery has always
the highest precidence.
If others wish this to be the same, and want to recompile indicator-po

Matthew, I don't think you will never find an algorithm that satifies
all user needs.
My very personal opinion is, that the mouse battery status is
irrelevant. Even if the mouse is going in 20 minutes, I still can use
the touchpad of my laptop. I only want to see the status of my laptop
battery.
Noseong, please mark this bug that it affects you (at the left top), so

Lars, do you have some pointer how libmessaging-menu is used in python?
I will try to port the Gajim plugin "Ubuntu Ayatana Integration" to
libmessaging-menu.

But I need more documentation about that.

Lars, when I run that code standalone it works. But when I do the import
MessagingMenu from within a Gajim plugin, I get an ImportError
exception. Any ideas what's wrong there?

ANY sort order does not fit my needs. If I want to see the status of
mice and keyboard batteries, I can click on the indicator and see them
all. What I need to see ALWAYS at a first glance, is the status of my
laptop battery, regardless of discharging, charging or full and on ac.

Yes, I did it the same way. I asked that question to Gajim developers
and they answered, it could be because Gajim uses GTK2, while Unity is
using GTK3.
Is there some documentation how messaging menu can be used in GTK2? Or
is this not possible?
BTW: if python-indicate is no longer working in Tru
Charles, if libindicate ist dead, please remove this package and all
dependent packages. It makes no sense to keep non working packages! It
confuses everybody.
Canonical should make it clear that libindicate does not longer exist.

It's very funny to see how Canonical justifies this stupid new
"feature". In the meantime I switched to Debian Wheezy (one of the
reasons was this "feature") and now I'm on FreeBSD (because of systemd
taking over control of the whole linux world).
Good luck to all that stay on Ubuntu. ;-)
