I am seeing this too after upgrading to 14.04, for example click on Files,
close the window, and clicking on Files then does nothing. Right click > Open
New Window still works.
Seems to be a rather serious bug, I wonder why more are not seeing it. Perhaps
it is an upgrade issue.

A workaround for the missing bookmarks is to is to unlock the nautilus shortcut
from the launcher and instead drag across
/usr/share/applications/nautilus.desktop and lock that to the launcher (in the
files view of that folder three items show as Files, it is the one that is
about 600 bytes lon
I am still seeing a second nautilus icon opening in the launcher.

The problem is only seen if I suspend by closing the lid. If I suspend using
pm-suspend or selecting suspend from the top panel cog then the problem is not
seen. Also I notice that in the case of closing the lid I get numerous errors
in syslog during the suspend, starting

If you have a problem on Xubuntu you should file a bug for that or

(usually brought up by hitting Alt) does not find apps, it is used to run menu
selections.

With up to date Saucy, Unity animations are very slow. For example, hovering
over launcher the app tooltip takes three seconds to appear fully and is drawn
as a series of images each more opaque that the previous. Normal operation
within an app is ok as is window movement
It does sound identical, however applying the workaround in #6 there
causes the login to fail. It just returns to the login prompt. I
pasted the string in from the comment so it should not be a typo. Can I
look somewhere to see why it is failing?

Open an application such as firefox. Open the Dash and click a file. Select
Show in Folder.

this problem, so whatever the problem is it has been there since install
time.
I installed ccsm and found that the Unity plugin is disabled. I enabled
it and it said it needed OpenGL plugin, the Scale plugin and the Expo

Olibaf: the new driver is a great improvement, but it is still not good
enough I am afraid. For example, with the new driver the Dash still
takes about 4 seconds to show, coming up in several steps. With the
workaround setting MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=1.4 it comes up in about
than 0.5 seconds. B
