It doesn't happen to me too often... A workaround that I use is to
resize the window (with mouse or keyboard hotkey) when it appears as
black. That apparently redraws the window.
A little annoying but it works.

problem lies with Unity Dash App lens. I think somehow it can't sync

Im not sure if this really qualifies as bitesized issue -- comment 5 actually
does apply to all applications: Calc, Writer etc.

Since 14.10 the only way to use the system is with apps full-screen,
because the background/desktop is constantly flickering. If you close a
window, it leaves flickering ghosts of itself, like a nightmare. See

Can't tell, sorry.
I only use Unity, and as i mentioned this only occurs sporadically, very
rarely, and with no way to reproduce at will that i know of. (I did see it
again not long ago, btw)
So even if i tried a given shell for the sake of it, i couldn't but wait for
ages for it to happen or no
@Teo, for the future, you can also report bugs against Ubuntu itself
without pre-assigning any package at all.

@Andrea, I suppose you are asking me. Yes, same as with the OP, the
shortcut keys are set correctly. In fact, this is a pretty virgin
installation. Same as him, the problem also went away after a reboot.
What I forgot to do was to verify with xev that the key events were
indeed triggered.

I believe this is a libreoffice issue and thus the two unity tasks
should be closed as invalid. Furthermore, I believe the fix has hit
libreoffice at least in trusty and later, but waiting for confirmation
from Mozaic on that.
