This helps me:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:attente/java-non-latin-shortcuts
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
and then "restart unity-settings-daemon"

I get this from some applications in Debian and gnome-shell. I assumed
it was an upstream GTK3 bug, but comment #4 says Chrome does it too, so
perhaps it's glib.
In any case I don't think the fault is with unity-panel-service or even
specific to Ubuntu.

I was not yet able to test the fix mentioned above. But I noticed that with my
workaround the user "nobody" (uid 65534) is listed as in lightdm.
It is listed by accountsservice if I query it via dbus:
root@pc:~/tmp# qdbus --system org.freedesktop.Accounts

/org
/org/freedesktop
/org/freedesktop/
I can confirm that I do see the nobody user in the accounts screen. I do
not see my user with UID 10203040.

Hello Iain, or anyone else affected,
Accepted compiz into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/1:0.9.11.1+14.04.20140623-0ubuntu1
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
Please help us by testing this new package.
Public bug reported:
For some unknown reasons, when I resume my Ubuntu from suspend, I am
prompted with the old unlock screen (one that we had before Trusty) and
subsequently the new Unity built-in unlock screen after I unlocked the

I can confirm this problem with trusty.
