This still happens in a fresh install of Ubuntu 15.04 with "NVIDIA
binary driver - version 346.59 from nvidia-346 (proprietary, tested)"

I'm the only one I know in real life or among my online contacts that
doesn't use multiple monitors. It's especially frustr
nvidia-331 are causing a lot of issues. There are some some fixes
scheduled in the next weeks.
