Sorry folks, but as part of the bug clean up ahead of 16.04 I'm marking this as invalid because it affects an Ubuntu release which is now unsupported. If you can still recreate this bug in a supported release please do open a new bug and we can triage it for consideration in the 16.04 development

This will likely be my last contribution post. I am no longer giving unity a try. Even if parts of it weren't acting buggy on my setup, the very premise of UI evolution is to remove clicks and mouse strokes. Some of Unity does that other parts like the global menu adds extra clicks and mouse stro

Update: Both of my systems are now working as designed. the hiding global menu symptom is gone. both of these systems have the unattended-upgrades package installing security updates without my attention, but other then that, I have not knowingly made any changes to either of these systems whi
