Battery tray indicator does not change actual status in a real time. It changes
only after reboot. And still unchanged until next reboot. Nothing affects it,
nor draining, nor charging.
But restarting the indicator-power from terminal triggers a status update!

I can't check 14.10 or 15.04, since I don't have ones installed.
