One note I would like to add is, even though I get the "Sorry, there is nothing that matches your search" message when I first open Dash and there's nothing in the search box, if I enter something, like "Calc" or "Screen", I'll see icons for the applications that match the search criteria. Using

I also started having this problem after upgrading from Ubuntu 13.04 (64-bit) to 13.10. I checked and I also have unity-scope-home installed, so I'm not sure why I would be getting this problem. Can we change the status from Invalid back to New? Peace... -- You received this bug notification b
