I'm guessing the problem is that Unity's panel window(s) are not created
in a way that allows compiz to keep them hidden (under full screen
windows) independently for each display.

Mh, this makes things harder to fix... The fact is that the shell is not
drawn when there are some fullscreen windows around, and that's fine...
But compiz adds it back on top when a fullscreen window has no focus.
This means that to fix the issue we can both show the shell on top of
these windows
No dbus messages are just warning...
We loose the name, and then we get it again (but good messages aren't
printed by default)...

I've done some quick checks, and from an Unity point of view, this is
not a problem in unity side. The menus are not exported from unity-
panel-service.
This means that they are not re-registered with indicator-appmenu or
that it doesn't handle them well (but it's more likely something inside

well I found the cause and fixed it... it was the fall back to swrast
(software rasterizer in Mesa3D).

Upon investigation, I have made the following discoveries.
If you have a mail to link and gmail installed and set up, when you
click on the 'mail to' link nothing happens (this assumption should also
hold if you have no mail client installed).
