This still happens in a fresh install of Ubuntu 15.04 with "NVIDIA
binary driver - version 346.59 from nvidia-346 (proprietary, tested)"
installed from the Ubuntu Additional Drivers tool.
Though I think I discovered a work-around. It seems like it only happens

I just experienced this (or at least that's what apport said) on vivid,
so I'm reopening this. The compizconfig-settings-manager binary package
is now provided by the compiz source package so I'm changing the
affected package to that.

The "vivid" Launchpad project has nothing to do with Ubuntu vivid, for
the record. This bug doesn't affect Ubuntu 15.04 as that uses systemd
for booting now, and systemd-shim isn't necessary any more (and inert if
installed).

Public bug reported:
When the battery is at 100% the text is too far to the right so it goes
up against the right edge and partially off screen (see attached
screenshot)
It was expected that the right edge of the text would be aligned to the
right edge of the buttons below.
$ system-image-cli -i
I also was hit by this bug when updating my utopic (14.10) amd64 system
to vivid (15.04). Deinstalling systemd-shim also worked for me.

Even nautilus is affected here, as it should provide an EmptyTrash
method that also takes the timestamp of the action that triggered it, or
the dialog won't be focused when this method is called.

Ok, I read about restoring subtitle functionality by switching to
fullscreen in #1448234, which gave me an idea. There is nothing wrong
with totem or vlc. Yet again its Ubuntu's appmenu that botches up
applications. After uninstalling appmenu everything works as expected.

The menu is quite a lot wider than any of its items. The spinner looks
like it is roughly where it should be if the menu was only as wide as it
needed to be.

Public bug reported:
Since upgrading to 15.04 (and hence Unity 7.3.2) I'm having trouble with
the menus in VLC.
Several items on the "Video" menu are disabled when playback is stopped
and are meant to become enabled during playback.
I initially reported this as a bug in VLC, but they reckon it's
There are days when this happens many times and days where it does not
happen at all. I may switch to gnome shell until this gets fixed.
