On the Toshiba Satellire S855-5378, running 14.04, when the laptop battery is
removed, running on AC, the battery indicator does not show up in the title
bar, the bt mouse will successfully connect with a warning (incorrect) of 0%
mouse battery, and continues to run. Some additional details on
I notice the same thing. If the screen locks due to timeout, it's ok.
But after keeping it from locking a couple of times as it fades out,
I'll have a high-chance of this problem occurring.

The scaling functions in Unity for adapting to High Resolution Displays
(high ppi, like Apple Retina) show strange behavior. I made screencasts
to document these.
Problems:
1. Higher number does not result in higher fonts
2. Numbers are extremely disproportional to resulting

This sounds remarkably like an X11 configuration issue. The only time
I've ever seen anything like it is when a monitor gives incorrect EDID
information or physical screens are explicitly placed incorrectly within
the X11 virtual screen using xrandr.
Could this possibly be a themeing issue?

I just noticed that on a fresh boot, with only 'Videos' application
open, expected behaviour occurs (menu items appear with cursor hard to
top of screen).
BUT - when I open another application (Thunderbird) both it and 'Videos'
go back to the buggy behaviour - menu items only appear with cursor

Exactly the same issue here. Fresh installation and opensource (no
catalyst) ati drivers (Radeon HD 4670). This is frustrating, especially
as it is already half a year after the 14.04 release. When 12.04 came
out, I changed the graphics card (removed NVidia 8800 and replaced it by
Radeon 4670) on m
