To follow up on renato's comment #5... we could simply convert back from
UTC to localtime in indicator-datetime, but that will only work
correctly if you're running in the same timezone where the alarm was
created.
And in fact we're already making this mistake in the clock app:

Actually my last comment was only half right. indicator-datetime does
have a bug that doesn't set the fallback timezone for EDS to use when
loading events, but there is a bigger problem in qtorganizer5-eds.
So, I'm in UTC-6 and just used ubuntu-clock-app to create a one-time
alarm to kick on Wed F

Daniel, Are you using 12.04? you must add ppa like that:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:zxcq14/minimize-unity-7
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
And packages should be updated. Maybe there is a problem with your package
system like broken depencies.

Thank you for all the help and especially thank you for this fix mnrl.
But I cant seem to get it to work, ive tested out various way of adding
this ppa and applying the fix but i keep getting duplicate ppa error and

patch. https://launchpad.net/~zxcq14/+archive/minimize-unity-7 So you
can use unity revamped without compliation with last version of unity.

There are changes in the 3.13 kernel that make Radeon HD 7xxx hardware
faster and more stable. Ubuntu 14.04 "Trusty Tahr" currently has the
3.13.0-12.32 kernel. Are you able to test it?
Also, the upstream 3.14-rc4 kernel has this commit (which has also been
ccd to the stable kernel series) which
I have the same problem when I clicked the icon of nautilus browser on the
dashboard on the left side.
