As a follow up, Konrad sent me in private his vbios and the issue turned
out to be trivial.
The reason why it behaved this way was that his vbios didn't have sensor
calibration values.

That didn't work either, the L2T path is the one that keeps getting executed.
In my case dst_mode is RADEON_SURF_MODE_2D or RADEON_SURF_MODE_1D and src_mode
is RADEON_SURF_MODE_LINEAR_ALIGNED.
