Can confirm the problem with an R9 285 chip (graphics card is called ASUS
STRIX-R9285-DC2OC-2GD5).
The monitor receives no input (switching to power saving mode) when run at its

I know this may not be a very useful comment, but I can confirm that this bug
also happens on 4.2-rc7, and that changing the display resolution via xrandr
makes it come back.

Still experiencing this problem with the latest upstream kernel code (up to

Up to now I haven't attempted this, but I just tried changing display modes
with xrandr, and this does result in a working display on DVI-I. That is, if
the mode is anything other than the preferred 1920x1080
