Since commit 1eace8344c02 ("i2c: add param sanity check to
i2c_transfer()"), the I2C core does this check now. We can remove it
from drivers.

I experience the same bug and it's easy to reproduce with dolphin emulator
while playing Super Mario Galaxy 2.
It happens with Vulkan driver (mesa 18.0.4) and Linux 4.16.9

This bug report is mainly pointing to 'amdgpu.dc=1' behavoir (no sound and lots
of warnings in dmesg log). This bug is still present in 4.17.0-rc5.

Can verify that this issue has resolved it self for me after the upgrade of

gnome -> 3.28.1
mesa -> 18.0.3
