I'm trying to bring up dovecot on a dual stack machine. I tried search for
the answers; the answers I found and tried failed :-(.
Found part of my problem; I see that I needed 1.1.
After trying to upgrade to 1.1rc5, and blowing away all the cache files,
bringing up dovecot just left ports acce

Is my assumption correct, that there is no way to do a search over a big IMAP
folder hierarchy in a reasonable amount of time, because each folder has to
be 'selected', and only one folder can be selected at once?
This isn't 100% what you're looking for, but.. consider looking at

format forever, and 2) we would like to use the Sieve plugin, which I
believe requires use of Dovecot LDA.

Anyone patch dovecot to syslog bytes transfered during a session or
anything of that sort?

Thank you Sir.
Any hint on how to use tcpdump to only grab the interesting parts?
tcpdump port 143
or whatever.
My knowledge of tcpdump is very limited and I only seem to be able to get a
lot of noise out of it.
Look at ngrep - it lets you use both tcpdump expressions, *and* further
