I think the origin of this issue is caused by Outlook itself.
Setting up a new account in Outlook, one has to provide an email address
instead of a user name. With using BSD usermanager
artificial stupidity guesses wrong.
Adding an account in Outlook (2019 in my case) one must provide an email
adddress. Example: el...@cloudzeeland.nl So that would be the username
(and not simply elise). Dovecot does not understand that and respose
with a 'non existing user' kinda

My user account is located at /usr/home/elise and has a subfolder ./mail
In that folder I have some subfolders/subdirectories. What happens now
is that dovecot creates all kind of .imap folders in these subfolders.
They are all exact mirrors of the base folder(s) the .imap is part of.

This is caused by the ssl_ca setting. We are working on a fix. You can try
commenting the setting out.
Can you let us know once a fix is available? I now deactivated package
update after I reinstalled the last-1 version of Dovecot.

Dovcecot and ran the command
