Hello
Is it possible to enable a full-text search (FTS) for attachments
(PDF, Text, Docx, …) using the open source dovecot server?
If so, how would I do that?
I've read https://doc.dovecot.org/2.3/configuration_manual/fts/ but
that wasn't clear to me.
Thanks,
Alexander

Hello
I enabled FTS Full Text Search using Tika in dovecot and have all the emails
now reindexed. Using either "IMAP by hand" (ie via telnet or openssl s_client),
SOGo webmail, or Thunderbird on macOS, I can search for and also find emails
based on text which is only in a PDF attachment.

maybe use:

Hm, I do not see how I could set this up in SOGo or Roundcube. I am not
creating the rules by hand but use these webmail systems.

Hello
I've got issues using filters. Although a filter matches a message,
the message remains in the INBOX. In the log file
a...@skwar.xyz.sieve.log, I find this:

Hello
How do I reindex all e-mails (for a user or for all users) for FTS?
Seems I can find new emails, but not old ones.
I tried this:
askwar@mail /o/mailcow-dockerized> time sudo docker compose exec
dovecot-mailcow doveadm index -A '*'

Hi
Sorry for the late reply — I overlooked your reply.

Hello again
I really, **REALLY** do not get the issues with filtering _AT ALL_.
For testing, I now added such a rule:
if allof (address :regex :comparator "i;octet" "from"
"@(bluewin\\.ch|yahoo\\.com)$") {
addflag "$label3";
fileinto "INBOX/🎗 Social Networks";
stop;
}
