The dovecot-ldap-userdb.conf is only a symbolic link on the original
dovecot-ldap.conf.
Only the ldap-quota is broken. The normal ldap-authentific
Hi there!
I have two DNS records
mail1.domain.tld
mail2.domain.tld
I have issued SSL server Certificates for both my domain names.
Is it possible to tell dovecot to use both , depending on
client access;
clients using the mail1.domain.tld be served by the mail1.domain.tld

Hi! Sorry by my english. Set Postfix + dovecot + AD + ldap, everything works
well, but appears in the logs, every 15 minutes:
auth(default): Error: LDAP: Connection lost to LDAP server, reconnecting
Standart limit ldap connect to AD 15 minutes.
Can somehow fix this problem without increasing the
mail_log plugin, not rawlog.

Hi,
I want to pick up this discussion.
I am trying to achieve the same, but I am using Maildir instead.
Here's the (relevent part of the) config file as configured by the recent
suggestion:
# We're using Maildir format
mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir
# Authentication configuration:

Hi,
I´m reading the past topics related to archive and scalability of dovecot,
they are all very interesting. Here, I´m using two dovecot proxies in

Hi Timo,
Yes it´s related, but I don´t understand '... You'll just need to
implement a filesystem that allows distributing a single user's mails to
multiple servers ...'.
My idea is just in the direction that we don´t need to care about
filesystem, we don´t need any distribuited filesystem...let

I´m not sure if i´m being quite clear about my solution (pardon my
english)...
I´m not thinking in any filesystem abstraction layer, I´m afraid of this
kind of solution. If some corruption happens we can loose data - and the
crash-recovery is not easy.
I´m suggesting the opposite, to not have an

That is an ssl imposibility, and the current tls clients can't really
do that either. The best way to do it is to use seperate ip's for
mail1 and mail2.
The only other option is to use a new certificate with
subject-alt-names, but lots of email clients don't support that.

Hi Timo,
Do you have any experience using Dovecot and Glusterfs ? How about the

Last time i checked the free version of DRBD only supports 2 nodes.
Correct. But RHCS supports more, and works best with an off number

The paid version supports 16 nodes.
I think there are some limits on that too... Like two read-

I have set up postifx and dovecot (1.1) with virtual users and delivery via
LDA. I am very pleased with the results so far but have this problem with
quotas.
Setting a global quota using plugin { } I initially used maildir to set quotas,
but they seem to apply to all folders apart from INBOX.
We are occasionally experiencing trouble where the NFS server's load
will shoot over 60+. (Normal of sub 1.0).
I have been hunting this for a while, and I believe it comes down to
"deliver".
System setup:
NFS servers: x4540 Solaris 10 x64 ZFS over NFS.
NFS clients: Solaris 10 x64 postfix-2

Are these old files, or why don't they contain the ,S=1234 in

Ah legacy reasons :) We used to use UFS (with quotas) inside zvol on the
zfs server. But this panics, and has performance issues.

Yeah, zfs quotas gets rid of this problem. Maybe I should also start
recommending people to use dict quota with v1.2.. Hmm. Although I think
there was also some rare issue with it that I should fix.
