I want to improve availability of my dovecot installation by implementing
replication as outlined in https://wiki.dovecot.org/Replication.
I am wondering whether I have to install an empty copy or whether it is also an
option to clone the entire existing system and then configure replica

I searched the archives and do not see a question/answer for this.
Should I perform a set of ordered steps after setting up replication? I have
setup dovecot on both ends with identical config except for the remote
hostname.
Main concern is the existing server gets replicated to the new serve
Trying to get my new storage server synced up using dsync replication with
SSH.
Followed the wiki and everything works great for the initial sync, for
about 4 hours, then I get some errors and it stops replicating:
dsync-local(u...@host.com): Warning: Failed to do incremental sync for
mailbox INBO
