I am seeing the same errors with tcps. For me with version 2.3.11.3
under CentOS.
An attempt without SSL looks better, I will probably also try it via ssh.

For me with dovecot 2.2.36 the solution was, to change the
mail_replica address from
mail_replica = tcp:HOSTNAME:PORT
to
mail_replica = tcps:HOSTNAME:PORT

should only write (compressed) data to disk.
Why is the istream used here? And what is read? If I remove zlib from
the configuration again, it all works as expected.

plugin unfortunately still doesn't seem to have a tagged release.
Has anyone by any chance rolled a .deb for the plugin that works on

explain why they don't fail.
Just try replacing the RAM (RAM is chep nowadays), and see if it fixes
the problem.

and UW-IMAPd you had to specify a Folder Path in the client. With Dovecot and
Maildir you don't need this.
Check if your users have set this folder path. That solved a lot of problems
here.

try to login and it does not work? Shouldn't that be the first thing to
look for? :)

would only be a fair test if your tester is testing the servers one
after the other and not simultaneously - you should tell him. So I don't
think anything will get messed up, but you nevertheless don't want this
type of setup for anything else than testing ;)

just an idea - maybe you could try to remove the Dovecot index files, so
Dovecot will rebuild them on the next login? Maybe it's some
incompatibility between the versions or some bug from 0.99 index file
creation..
