All in all a good effort.
1. Synaptic wouldn't start from the menu, but works fine from
gksu synaptic
2. Installed Double Commander-0.5.11-1; however,
the latest, DC-0.6.1 is a real winner as a file manager.
It is my new first app to install on any installation.
Thunar is good but DC-0.6.1 is a rea

There appears to be no root password in the xfce image. There's only an
asterisk in /etc/shadow.
Maybe my mistake, there was meant to be. However should work
(from where you can set a root password if wanted) That's the usual
debian-live type setup anyway.
For anyone interested in
Yes, I think it is a worthwhile candidate for Refracta.
The above should fix the update errors. Will do it later.
I massaged fstab to get it to play well with other distros.
And it looks good with no systemd.

Make sure you click "Reply List" and not "Reply". I've done that a couple
times.

Does debian livecd's use linux live kit
by slax developer Thomas Matijeck?
I remember I saw on slax forum he was
contracted by debian to do some work
on livecd? true or false??

Sure looks nice. I'll install it on an 8 GiB test partition on the netbook
and let it run in it's natural environment.

Thanks Fred,
David's snapshot is working very well for the most part.
A real credit to it's Refracta base. Couple of questions:
1. fstab is 0 bytes? But seems to work.
Where is the info kept, in Jessie?

Thanks for your efforts, David.
Copied the ISO to a Linux based Easy2Boot, boots no problem on Acer Aspire
One. I've always liked the Refracta look.

What about being devuan maintainers and contribute those packages to

I posted two new live iso's with no *systemd* (yes that means also no
libsystemd0) with installers and remaster tools:
xfce4 (Refracta-based):

Trinity Desktop Environment (the fork of KDE3):
