I performed the update yesterday and, with only a few minor changes, was
able to get the client's server back. This was, without a doubt, the
easiest dist-upgrade I have done in around 20 years of running Debian
systems.

After TrueCrypt died (and yes, there have been many rumors about why), I
went to LUKS and found a very nice QT front end for cryptsetup named
ZuluCrypt. It allows you to create a volume (file), encrypt it, mount
it, etc... Pretty nice on my workstation.

The big thing for me about Ubuntu, etc... is not the fact they use sudo
a lot, it is that by default they do not allow root login at all. If the
/home partition has problems, you must login as a user, then sudo to
root, then attempt to dismount /home and work on it, which will not work
since /home
