upgrading to a very out of date version of Django that is no longer
supported. I think 3.2 is the oldest supported version. Why not

I have a form that is used to add an item where 2 dropdowns are populated
using different database than the database where the form will be
submitted. I would like to add AJAX to the drop downs where selecting one
item in the first drop down will auto populate data in the 2nd drop down

generic view functions are deprecated in
favor of generic class views.
So, if you are using 1.4 and following along with the book there will be
disconnects. However, I find I keep going back to the book to understand
this or that aspect of how django works. Its well written. Just find
newer a
egroups.com.
