There's a known bug that help_text=_("") triggers infinite migrations,
perhaps you could add your use case to the ticket.

That's not the problem - if an incoming connection is a WebSocket it does
not run through the URL resolver (as you are seeing there) but instead gets
upgraded on the wire and dispatched differently.

I have a bunch of Microsoft Word files, and I want to allow the users of my
tool (a Django 1.8 based custom-made CRM, basically) to edit those files

the latest version of Django.
Try mysqlclient if that's an option for you.
