If I recall correctly, GR will build with Thrift 0.10.X, but doesn't
with any newer version. I'd guess there are API changes to Thrift that
will require GR's interface to be updated, but to the best of my
knowledge nobody has ever done this updating. This might be a good GSoC

I tried to build from source v3.7.13.4
cmake seems to work well producing:
