Thanks for the help, I think I found my problem. For searching installed
packages, zypper is quite slow. I have an alternative using the rpm
command but the arguments were wrong, causing the version parsing to fail.
That's been fixed and it seems that packages are now properly installed
(an

Yeah, the entire FX series (I think) has a single FP-unit per *pair* of
cores.
This is in contrast to that which went before, the Phenom II X6, for
example, had 6 FP units.

differently(believe there was a class action lawsuit over this started
recently). Given GR is mostly FP math, I'd go with the intel.
