It would be non-trivial. If you really want to use 1.9.0, you could look at
porting Ben's original VXLAN patch:

It's not something we would include in 1.9.x maintenance releases or be able to
support, though.

Since Open vSwitch 1.10.0 now support VXLAN tunnel protocol, is it possible
to enable this support in Open vSwitch 1.9.0 with some modification ?
