Hello,
I'd like to know what's the behaviour when setting max_len=0 in
ofp_action_output message. And if I want the switch to send the whole packet,
what value should I assign?

I think I've replied but actually it's in the draft box. Sorry for the
delay.
I captured packets on both interface using wireshark and as I described in
the first mail, I can see ARP request at eth0 but not tap0.
And now I'm considering using a veth pair, say veth0 and veth1. Att

Hi,
So what if I can't use the default port number? For example, when more than
one switches are created, their port numbers are 6634, 6635, etc. How could
I know that from the controller side?

Hello,
The command ovs-ofctl could connect to a switch using syntax tcp:1.2.3.4:1234,
but if I don't know this port number, is there any way to fetch it? I mean like
when a switch connects to the controller, the controller knows the switch's
dpid.
Best regards,
So could anyone tell me the correct format of this command?

Thanks, Ben
Since I already have the version 1.7.1, the only choice is to install a
"bleeding edge" version. I'd better wait for the next stable release.
Btw, the man page I read is

I think because of thanksgiving, you may have missed this email.
Just to remind, and thanks in advance.

ried the instructions in
openvswitch-switch.README.Debian, but didn't work. btw I'm using ubuntu 12.04)
And since virbr0 doesn't get enough configuration, it's isolated from the
Internet. So how to make both br0 and virbr0 connect to the Internet? I think I
can connect
Problem solved, that's because I set a br0 in /etc/network/interfaces
Sorry for the disturbance.

Hi there,
At the system startup, the "bridge module is loaded, not loading brcompat"
error occurs. I can see that some other module loaded bridge before ovs, but
how to find it?
Or how can I make the system load brcompat first?

Best regards,
Thanks, Ben,
I didn't notice the debian directory before, I think a INSTALL.debian is needed
to remind and tell users how to build and install in a "native" way on ubuntu.
Also, the INSTALL.linux way didn't see a ovs-ctl program, only the man page.
Might be a bug.

2. The "ovs-ctl" commands seem to have overlaps with each other.
As I'm reading the documents, I find that the dpctl, vsctl, appctl and ofctl
commands have some similar functionalities. For example,
