Nevermind, I just saw an older post about it. Hope things are coming
back together OK.

Having problems getting ovsdb started using CentOS 7. I downloaded
and built OVS 2.1.2 (also tried 2.3.0) using
rpmbuild -bb rhel/openvswitch.spec
Then installed the RPM. But when I try and start OVS, ovsdb fails to
start.
[root@localhost ~]# /etc/init.d/openvswitch start

If using virtual machines, always make sure the interface in the VM
settings is set to promiscuous mode. Had many issues of packets getting
dropped because of this.

Yes, setting an IP is all that is needed.

No extra flows are needed, so this is a configuration error or a bug.

I've been searching for quite a while and experimenting but there must
be an extra step I am missing to get a simple inband controller example
to work. Here is the simple example topology.
s2---s1---controller
s1 = 11.0.0.1/32
s2 = 11.0.0.2/32
controller = 11.0.0.100/8
An example ovs-vsctl
When looking at the configuration in the first email, I don't see anything
to configure the controller for br2. You only have br1 a controller.

Is it possible to centralize one OVSDB for multiple ovs-vswitchd
running on different systems? If so, how would ovs-vsctl know which
system to go to?

By default, OVS is running as inband-control mode. In that mode, OVS will
have some extra flow table entries to allow the controller to communicate
over the inband connection.

I'm trying to following the instructions to build the OVS RPMs on
