, while having
redundant standby links over another switch.
The suggestion Ethan made about configuring an LACP config over both switches
looks interesting and I'll definitely try it when I have the opportunity.
Thanks for the ideas!

Or is this a situation that requires STP to find the right path? Like
having bond0 and bond1 as described above, and have STP enabled to
determine which path to use.
A push in the right direction would be great...

cks besides extra arp communication?
Perhaps the test above is more realistic. Yesterday I also did the
test by shutting down the port on the switch, and if I recall
correctly, the same behavior was seen.
Problem is I don't have admin rights on the switch,
to have it send gratuitous ARP requests for
the virtual mac addresses?

Hello,
I'm testing a cluster setup with KVM, and I encounter a problem when the
host gets a reset (not a reboot), like when the host is fenced by the
cluster.
In this case, the ovs configuration is loaded from its database with the
next reboot (like bridge ports that were configured for VMs that w
vnet0 is bound to the vbr314 bridge), so this is
probably a minor issue.
Best regards,
Frido

It would be nice however if it would work with the default bridge-utils
version (bridge-utils-1.2-9.el6.x86_64).

Well, actually this is exactly the same problem as:
http://openvswitch.org/pipermail/discuss/2011-September/005768.html
No answers in that thread, so I was wondering if there was any progress on
this topic.

I've read somewhere on the net that the bridge tools in RHEL 6.x are too
recent. Are there any workarounds, or is an update on this planned for a
coming release?
Btw, downgrading to 5.x is not an option for us.
