with some help from Hans, the latest cygwin gcc,
Tor Lillqvists win32 development packages and makefiles
from glib I was able to compile the dxf plugin. It works
together with the current win32 msvc build.
Is anybody else interested in such a build - should I add
the makefiles to the CVS? O

Looks like your makefile is not including string_prerenderer.o
Try removing Makefile.in and Makefile in the lib directory (just to make sure)
and run autogen.sh again. Make sure that Makefile.am is in sync with the CVS.

The latest CVS version (build on Linux) crashes whenever I try to
add elements containing text to a diagram. It looks like dia
doesn't pick up the fonts any more. I haven't been able to
track the problem down any further.
Does anybody else experience the same problem?

When creating large PDF files you have to be careful
to specify the correct papersize (or make the PDF scaleable).
ps2pdf -sPAPERSIZE=a0
should create a nice A0 size PDF file that can be plotted.

Does the printing shop support PDF for printing at this size?
You can hack the paper sizes in the dia source code to
fit with 2m x 15m - ps2pdf should be able to accept
a custom paper size (That's what GSView under Windows
offers). I don't know the commandline parameter for this,
though...

If you're going to import the files to
Photoshop or Paintshop Pro,you should export the
files as .png. Both packages work with raster images.
PNG files should look ok. On windows make also sure to
