Nowadays, the most popular office under linux is OpenOffice. It is
rather stable and effective. But it really lacks something like Dia. So
one of my greatest problems these days is how to integrate them well:
simple, getting nice-looking result. In particular, I am extremely

Yes but I just did not know OO is able to print images which it is not
able to show. I lived in WYSIWYG world for too long. So

OO knows eps but does not show it (even in preview - only on print). OO
has nothing to do with pdf. Sad. I kno
It was discussed about a month ago.
There are two ways: more correct and more "user-friendly".
More correct way: import into eps. Then fix eps using ps2epsi - this
will add preview bitmap (BTW, is dia going to do it itself one day?)
Then, import eps into SO. Probably (sometimes?), on the screen
