Apart from the light-gray grid, which can be turned on and off, there
is another sparse black grid over it that I cannot get rid of.
What is its purpose ? Its dimension is not even a multiple of
something, it falls in random places with reference to rulers.

In Options menu there are two pairs of quite the same things:
Send to Back
Bring to Front
Send Backwards

What is the difference between the first two and the last two ?
I need to know this rather for translation, but is always good to
know ...

Hello,
Please add the NSIS installer translation for Romanian from here:
http://www.secarica.ro/traduceri/dia_0.97.1_installer_romanian.7z
and I think the corresponding line to the main NSIS script should be
added too, which should be
!include Romanian.nsh
Thank you,

fine for me :)
(I know that on Linux desktop it showed already with transparency,
probably with .png transparency (?))

s). I turned on the antialiasing in preferences
(the third vertical tab, checkbox on bottom), I even restarted Dia.
When I start typing something it looks like in attached snapshot.
According to about, Dia is disw.exe 0.97.1.

issue, maybe Dia's, I don't know, but the fact remains.
Otherwise I find Dia very promising, sometimes it's exciting to use,
I even contributed recently with the Romanian translation to it (not
completed, but still undergoing).

ot a perfect solution, but better than nothing:
- save the diagram as .svg
- open the .svg with Inkscape
- select and copy the desired shape(s)
- paste in Visio
For some reason copying directly from Dia does not work [in Windows].

While translating, I came across this string:
#: ../plug-ins/xfig/xfig-import.c:503
msgid "Couldn't read polyline info.\n"
Not sure, but I guess that the ending \n should be removed, like are
the other similar error strings in the neighborhood.

gt; How can I get this?
Since the files generated by Dia are vector format, I suppose one can
save as .pdf (which preserves the vector nature) and then print
the .pdf with whatever tool is able to print giant something.
