I have started using Dia few weeks ago has already eased my life a
lot. Aslo I have the following feature suggestion which would be a
"good to have".
The line always seem to have an anchoring point (not sure if it is the
exact term used in Dia circles) in the middle, which, is great that
one

is there an automated way of producing the icons (.png) from a folder of
.shape?
something like
convert -size 20x20 foo.shape foo.png
or
dia -t png -e foo.png foo.shape
but those obviously don't work...

Dia shapes do not contain icons, they just reference icons. So
you should have your icons right next to the shapes. Not
that not all Dia objects are shape
I have just the opposite request. I'd like to turn off the anchoring
points in the middle of lines, etc. because they're always grabbing
things I don't want them to. Hard to handle sticky stuff without
everything sticking to it!
