how to change default diagram background and grid colors?

Hi (Dia 0.97.1 on Windows) I tried setting the default diagram background and grid colors by modifying the ~/.dia/persistence file. But it gets overwritten the next time dia is started. Is there some other way to set these values? Thank you, Mirko _

Has anyone suggested the possibility of Dia becoming a diagramming tool in LibreOffice? It would take a lot of work, but Dia could at least provide a starting framework. Would this be a welcomed opportunity or something to be avoided? ___ dia-list maili
