This is a dia feature request, or a request for anyone who has an existing
hack that can get the job done.
Need: Convert dia UML diagram to XMI format. Save as format or python/XSLT
transforming script, either one would be great.
Dia's UML shapes seem quite good. I was able to reprod

Hi!
I wonder if Dia supports import and export of XMI files?

It isn't, quite. There's also groups and connection handling. Don't know
what SMIL is, though.

Dia2, SVG, XMI, Dublin Core, aww hell just look at OpenOffice.org Draw.
sorry i am mostly going to skip responding directly to the thread.
You want XML (eXtensible Markup Language) and you want to do UML type
stuff in it then you want XMI (XML MetaData Interchange). IBM Eclipse is
doing
lang from microsoft.
The XPDF tool builds an C++ class object model of the document and
interprets that to display it, I was thinking about translating that
into some form of image inside of dia. This is a bit in the future, but
maybe someone thinks its a good idea.

Macs nor PCs understand PS by default. Do you think you're learning enough
PDF to be able to do that?
How are you considering importing PDF? As something similar to images, or
decomposed into native Dia lines, text etc?

I am interested in XMI, The export is not high on my list
About a year ago, there was some interest in XMI on the list. Is there still interest
in having Dia at least export to an XMI-compliant format? Is anyone working on it?
Thanks,
