If you determine where you want the text, then you can group them together
for easy relocation. You could try to edit the shapes you like best and
out them in the sheet. I don't have any wisdom on that. I am an
inveterate worker arounder, and so, I avoid editing shapes.

thank you michael for your patience. however it did not work. i tried it in
several different ways. but the figure in the pdf does not look to the same
then in dia - the text moves slightly upwards. the problem could also evolve
through writing the pdf from latex. i guess i have to live with it
in the properties of the flowchart box i chose: text alingment "center" are
there any other properties i can adjust i have not found yet?

If you center it vertically and horizontally then the text will distribute
evenly around the grip.
