Connectors is not shapes.
Dia doesn't support embedding text into conn
I think this question has already be discussed. I think Dia does not support
this feature.

You can attach text label to a straight connection (to it's center), and it'll
move along with connection line changes.
But that's the only connection tool that

I believe I have seen this question answer in the negative. You cannot do
this. It is not a shape creation operation, but an actual writing of
source code that is needed.
In fact I don't believe you can add text to any of the tools - excepting
the Outline Text object which has an entry box for t
