Is this referring to DiaCanvas 2, which is occassionally mentioned on this list, or
something else? Does it mean utilizing DiaCanvas (2 or otherwise) in Dia or making

I use Ctrl+A for "View/Show All" all the time. Many graphics applications use the
same short cut, regardless of what the Gnome or Windows interface guidelines say.
"Select All" is an uncommon operation in Dia and similar applications. I think this
is a case of "rules are made to be broken."
This is answered in the FAQ at http://www.lysator.liu.se/~alla/dia/dia.html.

I'm using a 0.89 binary that I got from a link in the mailing list archive (thanks,
Hans). It works great and is noticeably more stable (the warning about anti-aliased
mode still comes up, but I'd swear the problems were less frequent or nonexistent).
So why no official release? The Dia home
Is any of this perhaps related to the problem that a UML class object will not shrink
when the longest attribute or method shrinks? I'm running the Windows version.
Thanks,

could be turned on. If not, the interested party ought to put a request into that
library's maintainers.

When creating an EPS file, you typically have the option of embedding a preview. This
preview is what a word processor or other program displays on the screen. Even in MS
Word, if the preview is not included in the EPS file, the image will not appear when
the document is edited (presumably, i
I think what Gil means is something analagous to a physical document that consists of
multiple independent sheets, for example, blue prints of a house or electrical
schematics of a machine. In Dia, it would be as if several independent diagrams could

Someone was working on this feature for school or work. Is that person still

this feature, I would search the archive, track that person down, and offer my help

I'm not a developer, so I can't help you with your RFEs. But I can tell you where to
file them. Dia uses the Gnome Bugzilla at bugzilla.gnome.org. On the Query or Submit
page, just specify dia in the product list.

Allan,
Dia cannot arbitrarily rotate objects, as is noted in the FAQ at
www.lysator.liu.se/~alla/dia/faq.html. The FAQ is the first and best place to look
for answers to questions before posting them to the list. If you have a question that
is not answered by the FAQ and you think it should

So should bugs found in the 0.89 release candidates be reported just here and not in

I ran into the same problem and had to search through the registry for references to

was tedious. The problem was some references to a version 0.86 install.
Can the dia installer be made to install over (i.e.,
I just installed dia-0.89 on NT 4.0 and found this bug: If the menu bar is activated

Edit->Delete still works, however.

There are quite a few resolved but unclosed bugs on Bugzilla. Am I right in assuming
that they only need to be verified by a 3rd party before they can be closed? I would

I may be experiencing the same problem on Windows NT with 0.88, but I can't rule out

it occurs, e.g., if an object is selected. I'm not exactly sure what I do to recover.
