Hello Alex Macharia,
The validation rule analysis page gives you the ability to select a
range of dates (Start Date and End Date). This means if you want to
validate data for last three months, you'll have to select the First
date of the First Month i.e. 1st January, 2018 and Last date of March,

Hi,
I there a way of creating a VALIDATION RULE that checks into other periods?
I wish to validate current month in reference to data entered 3 months ago.
Thanks

Dear all,
I am having difficulty creating a validation rule that checks an entry (data
element) with the last period's value of the same data element. I read the
documentation and noticed 18.7.1.1. About sliding windows, a feature that I
think might be helpful

comparisons.

Hi Becky,
in the program rules you can use the function d2:hasValue('') to
verify if the variable has value.
for example to check if the "MotherAge" is between 10 and 70 you can use
the rule
d2:hasValue('MotherAge') && (#{MotherAge} > 70|| #{MotherAge} < 10)

Hi DHIS community,
Could someone advise me on how to distinguish between a zero and a null in a
validation rule?
Basically, I want the validation to pass if a data value is not blank. It
should pass even if the value is zero, as long as it's is filled in. "Zero is
significant" is on.

Okay. Make sure that:
- All data elements of the validation rule are part of the form / data set.
- Make sure that all data elements in the validation rule actually have a value
in the form. You can control

Yes Lars,
Both dataset period type and data are set to monthly. But even so, doesn´t
work. I don’t whether is an internal bug.
Kind regards,

Hi Andrew,
I agree with you. We have actually been thinking along those lines earlier.
There should be a configurable and internationalizable (is that a word?)
template for a message when a rule is violated, as today's message is
rather cryptic. It should be possible to include variables for the v

in the validation rules,
All validation rules beginning with "Wkly" belong to the Weekly

deaths shouldn't exceed the total cases.
Example: "*Wkly Cholera Case-Death*"

Still with the upgrade to 2.5, I realized that there are some
validation rules that had been created with an earlier version on one
of the datasets (Form 033b) that are no longer working.
The weird part is that others that must have been created (Form 105)
