The video of Carsten Munk's Fosdem presentation "Technical introduction to
the deeper parts of SailfishOS" is now online at:

Note that the video that is currently available at the Fosdem video
archive has recording issues, so better not to watch that one. I'll try to
I recorded it. However there was a problem with the recording laptops
during Carsten's talk, so it has been recorded in-camera instead and needs
manual editing. (Which has the advantage that the presentation will be
available in a higher resolution than the 720x576 size of the normal

Are you sure it worked some weeks ago? Because as far as I know, debugging
has so far never worked, not on the emulator nor on the target.
I recently encountered the same issue and on IRC some sailors replied that
it's currently a known issue that will be fixed in a future SDK update.

For other Linux distributions, the normal solution would be to package the
maps in a separate rpm file. Then if the user installs his/her own maps,
he can remove the standard maps package. Maybe you can do this as well?

I just used the WLAN ip address to ssh to the device.
For the USB connection to work maybe you have to setup an interface in the

Hi,
Two questions about making apps as much integrated as possible in SailfishOs:
1) Is it possible to add notifications to the notification overview (swipe
up from bottom of phone) from my own app ?
2) What should I do to make my application's settings accessible from the
"Settings app -> Appli
I'm investigating to see if it is possible to create a network monitor for
SailfishOs. Something like

I can read simple received/sent statistics from /proc/net/dev , but it

Hi,
I installed the Sailfish SDK on the data disk of my Mac. I also created a
directory "sailfish_projects" on that disk. However if I create a new
sailfishOs project in that directory, building it will fail with message
"Project is outside of shared home /Users/winfried". If I create a project
