correct me as appropriate) that _FORTIFY_SOURCE=3
adds some runtime overhead that did not apply
It's a low-level package only built for i686. If it actually works on
x86-64 kernels, it should be built as an x86-64 package, too. If it
doesn't work on x86-64 kernels, I don't see why we should keep building
it.
