Hi Zbyszek,
I encountered several things during testing I want to bring up.

The term "unknown scriptlet" doesn't sit right with me.
Is there some way to name it, or
Yes, MariaDB packs it's own sysusers file.

| u mysql - "MariaDB" /var/lib/mysql
however it wasn't used.
Instead, the preinstall scriptlet (which I maintained to be identical
with the MySQL one) was.

Do I understand correctly, that with your Fedora
Hi Zbyszek,
I hoped I'd resolve the PRs for MariaDB and MySQL by the beginning of this week,
however I got sick, and I can't continue at this moment.
I carefully considered the options and I selected the path forward I
want to take.
The '%sysuser_create_compat' macros aren't present on RHEL 9 as

I merged PRs to other packages, but since MariaDB and MySQL share the
same user and group config, I want to check if it works fine for them
in various combinations.
However I noticed a behavior that surprised me:
When installing MariaDB on Fedora

Hi fellow packagers,
About three weeks ago, pull requests to convert packages to use sysusers
and/or to drop calls to %sysusers_create_compat were filed. So far
50% have been merged or otherwise handled (149 merged, 29 closed, 178
remaining).
In the beginning quite a few PRs were merged quickly,
