I seem to have a similar problem.
My configuration *could* be mistakenly identified as hybrid graphics (Intel
iGPU and Nvidia discrete GPU present), but the iGPU is explicitly disabled
(in the UEFI configuration) and only the discrete GPU is used for rendering
AND output.

My guess is that you have a system with hybrid graphics,
we made it default to X since the support for hybrid graphics
is not available fully in Wayland yet. We hope to land that for
F26.

I believe there is something wrong in the recent (several months) nouveau
driver. So chances are high that your machine will default to Wayland as
soon as you switch off secondary videochip.
There are some rhbz tickets related though.
